Edwards of Conwy is a heritage premium butcher where responsibly sourced, quality meat is paramount. Edwards also have a very successful supermarket brand, which they are better known for. However, the shop in Conwy is the original and it's where their award-winning products are conceived and created.
We were tasked with updating the old logo to be appropriate to the more modern supermarket brand, while differentiating it, so it had it's own identity.
We also revamped the wider brand identity of the shop, with its important position in the local community and across North Wales.



When your shop is located in a World Heritage Site, in this case the picturesque tourist town of Conwy, you have to be sensitive to history without getting trapped in the past.
We took inspiration from signage murals of old tobacconists, warehouses and manufacturers and created a decorative word totem that has a traditional feel, with a modern twist.



We explored colour palettes that complement meat produce, and provide the flexibility to highlight areas for sales messaging or key messages.
The design style we created was considered to work across across packaging, merchandise, uniforms, gift vouchers, brochures and signage to retain consistency.


The future and legacy of Edwards are of great importance, and we made sure to create a brand that works in both physical and digital formats.
We're working with Edwards to develop style guides for their social media and digital advertising, and we're planning their online website to create greater reach with their meat boxes and online sales.
